Best places to develop film in Los Angeles?
I've tried so many places. Bel-Air camera in Westwood has great quality but they can be rude sometimes and it's very expensive. Target developed 8 rolls of film on CD's for 16 dollars. Walgreens did 4 rolls for 24 dollars, and the quality was alright except for the fact that there was a giant purple line through every single photo. Samy's camera is too expensive. And Walmart gave me bad quality development. I don't have a film scanner and I don't have enough money to buy one... I think. And my photo scanner is completely horrible. So I like to get the photos put on CD's Are there any places in West Los Angeles/Culver City/Beverly Hills that develop film at a low-ish price for good quality? Or a certain store of a chain like Target or Walmart that does good quality? I've been doing some shoots with film that mean a lot to me and I want to know that my film is in good hands without spending a ton of money. So.... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Best scanner for slides and negatives? Like the CanoScan by Canon or Epson Perfection?
I have a ton of old photo slides to scan, plus I'd like to do some film negatives too. Right now I'm looking at either the CanoScan 9000f by Canon or the Epson Perfection v500 since they are currently being sold in the same price range. Anyone own one of these? Maybe you own something else that produces great quality photos? I will be editing in photoshop elements. Any suggestions or opinions will be appreciated.

I have several Epson scanners for negatives / slide scanning - they are fantastic. One tip if you are seriously into detail / quality - look into third party software such as silverfast which pulls even more detail out of images - working with the scanner, but replacing the manufacturer's drivers / scanning software. I would guess that both will be good, but I have always used Epson.

Scanning old Kodak Instamatic 126 Slides?
My dad has hundreds of old Kodak Instamatic 126 slides that he'd like to scan digitally. Services online triple the price for scanning non-35mm film at around $1 each. I was considering purchasing the Cannon CanoScan 9000F scanner for him to scan the slides himself. Most of the reviews I've read says it scans 35mm great and it includes a 120 Film holder. Do you think the scanner will make good scans of Instamatic 126 slides? If not, any other recommendations (besides the $700+ scanners)?
